Welcome to our blog page.
Well I decided that seen as we have a few people all over the place that I would put together a blog for all to read.
Plus when the peanuts born I get to have a brag page.
I'll start off with the important info first.
Peanut aka little Luke Skywalker Burt or Princess Leia Burt. Due 12th March. Have 18 weeks to go. Time has gone so fast and it was only yesterday that I realised that I have 12 weeks of work left. I no doubt will be the size of a house by March and as I read in the paper the other day the weather man is predicting a hot summer. Thanks a lot el nino. Other wise the little one is growing fast and is extremely active. It certainly enjoys kicking its fathers thumb away and just like its father it enjoys its food.
Steve and I are slowly getting our garden together at the house. When we brought the house there were 3 dying shrubs down the side of the drive way. A apple tree that had seen better days and 2 trees that were just planted at random. Now I am pleased to say that we have 8 healthy growing shrubs, a passionfruit tree, 2 blueberry trees, 2 kowhai trees and the lime tree that I have carted around in a large pot for the past 4 years that has finally made a full recovery in the ground. Now that's just the back yard. In order to give our selves some privacy Steve built two trellis fence's in front of the patio and we put in a garden with lots of pretty coloured flowers. All flowers and shrubs carefully selected by our gardening manager aka Pam (steve's mum) Which are coming along nicely. So stage one of the great landscape design is almost complete and we hope to start stage two in the next couple of weekends. Raised Garden Beds and a New Clothes Line. I will have the straightest clothes line in Wellington as the posts will be measured by our Engineering Manager aka Des (steve's dad).
Now I should probably introduce you to the 3 Mogs that run our house. So that you have some idea of who we are rambling on about.
First off is Penny. Mother to the Ralph and Dobbyn. Is a charismatic animal and shows her thoughts on her face through expression. Trust me she will shoot you a "You idiot" look or a "don't touch me" look. Is snooty and stubborn and certainly not the most coordinated cat (just asked steve about his slashed ear at 3am) but really affectionate. Just watch out for the dribble or should I say drool.
Ralph. Is 10kg's and love's his food. Snores almost as loud as Steve and has foot odour worse than Steve. Is a very loyal and will sort out the neighbours crazed grey cat when he needs too. Is a complete smooch and sleeps with us most nights. Likes to sit on the corner of the fence with one paw over and watch people walk by. When running or should I say jogging it sounds like a heard of race horses.
Dobbyn. The most characteristic cat I have ever had. He looks like someone has just told him a dirty joke. Everything is Dobbyns. He owns everything. He will see the other two cats have a spot they like to sleep in and he will take it over. Drinks his water out of a cup and loves to sleep in side things. i.e boxes, bowls, baskets, and sports bags. Has lots of nicknames and recently enjoys lying over my tummy and has become protective of me. Leaps up on everything and has a tail that's like a rudder on a boat that's continuously up and sways from side to side when he walks. (looks rather funny) This particular animal makes us both laugh lots.
So now that I have started the blog I will some how attempt to upload some photo's for you.
Wish me luck....
