Crawling....

Yes its that time already.
Harry is a very speedy crawling now. So you have to have eyes in the back of your head.
He was very interested in the cat bowls the other day so had to quickly take those off him as they hadn't quite finished there breakfast. Neither to say that Ralph didn't look to happy that the baby was playing with his bowl.
Other than the crawling and the teething. Harry is doing well. Loves his food and can yell mumma, dadda and bubba.
Why oh why did someone not warn me how horrid the teething process can be??

Harrison's Naming Day

Harrison's naming on Saturday was a fantastic day. Steve made and honest women out of me and Mr and Mrs Burt is now official. the naming day had been planned since Harrison was 6 weeks old and 2 weeks ago Steve and I went to a surprise engagement and then 10 min later they were married. which inspired Steve and I to do something similar on the naming day. So it took 2 weeks to sort it all out and then try and keep it as quiet as possible.
It was a no fuss job with next to no stress and that's what worked best for us.
Stay tune for more photo's

Is he not the most cutest baby...

5 Months on.

Well we have a 5 month old now and boy does he keep us both on our toes. He is great fun and makes us laugh. I have experienced the boy's love of food first hand. He also loves to blow raspberries at me with a mouth full of food. Baby rice in your eye is not all that fun.
No need for me to go to the gym as I have my own set of weights here. Harry is getting pretty heavy these days and picking him up from the floor requires the knees to be bent. So here is the little man almost in his birthday suit before a bath.
And the finishing product...

OK so now that we are getting older we are getting a little bit of our own Independence. Won't be too long before he's holding a glass one with that fizzy brown ale stuff inside.

Our favourite little man has a favourite toy. Tigger. So baby tigger PJ's courtesy of Aunty Jess.

At Long Last

Well yes its been a while since iv had the time to pop on here and do an up date. But the life has been rather crazy busy round here.
I'm back at work now and juggling work, Harrison and running the house has been rather a lot to take on. Have decided to give up my job in town and have got a part time job up here in Paraparaumu which has been good no commute to town. But it did came with 5 weeks full time work to learn the ropes which is now over thank god. Trust me I was counting down the weeks as its was pretty hard going.
Now as a possible result of running myself into the ground I have been struck down with whooping cough and stuck inside for another 4 days. Being quarantined is certainly no fun. Whole house is on anti bio tics and poor Harrison had to have his 5 month injections just to make sure he was fully immunized for it.
Steve is now working up here. His last day in town was Monday and he starts hes new job next Wednesday. I bet he didn't count on me being home to ruin his TV time.
Harrison is doing well is loving his solids and is just a happy little chappy. Has just started to show signs of teething which will be fun and drool and dribble is just great especially when they wipe it all over you.

Horsey rides. Nan did this with him and he loves it. Until you stop...

Harrison with Dobbyn the cat who would not go anywhere near him when he was born... Now he won't leave Harry alone.

Harrison after solids. Likes the fruit... Not so keen on the veggies yet...

Weekend with Aunty Jac

3 Month old injections tomorrow...(should be fun) and a weigh in with plunket... I'm putting my money on him being at least 7.5kgs. I certainly don't need to buy any arm weights that's for sure.

Mum was made redundant for a couple of days as Aunty Jac came down from Auckland to spend the weekend with her baby nephew.

Hurricane Harrison

Well we were not too impressed with last weeks result of the Super 14 Semi final.
But the Hurricanes were well supported.

Dare I say it and it almost makes me sick saying it.... Go the Chiefs...

What a good baby is he...

Well at first I thought it was just a fluke. But then it happened again and then again and its still happening. The little man is sleeping through the night... Goes to bed between 8.30 - 9pm and sleeps right through to 6.30am. Of course that makes me function some what better however I still have the worst baby brain and sometimes struggle to string a sentence together thank god Steve understands what I'm on about.
Harrison is 9 weeks old and is piling on the weight and doing all the right things. He is getting so heavy my arms mussels have started to hurt. A big 12lb 7oz or 5.6kgs and is growing out of his clothes as fast as lightening.

Japanese Sword vs The Beaming Smile

Ok where to start as i have so much news to share. Of course its only baby news but as hey that's still exciting... Well it is for me.
Last week we had our trip to the doctor's where they strip him of his clothes poke and prodded him to check if things were looking good. Which of course they were then off to the nurse's office to have 2 needles the size of a Japanese sword stabbed into his little thighs. 5 min of crying then he crashed out asleep in my arms. ooh bless it... and the biggest achievement was mummy didn't even cry. So a couple of days with a grumpy baby and then he was back to his happy self.

Happy Family
Wait till he's older and wearing the real jersey
Of course mile stones are coming thick and fast now as are the smiles. Ahh there is nothing better than a smile from the little man at 4am in the morning after he's downed his bottle and your trying to be all business like with him (which requires barely any talking so he's not stimulated and can go back to sleep) takes all the strength in the world not to respond to it.

As we didn't find out what peanut was till on the day there was lots of speculation as to what the little bundle was to be. Every single wives tale lead us to think that we were having a girl. However when the big day arrived and the peanut made his appearance all wives tale theory's where thrown out the window. Thank god I didn't purchase any pink. Thanks to Auntie Jess who brought Harrison his singlet telling the world he's not a girl.

A smile for mum
Did you just call me a girl... Come here and say that...
I told you "I'm not a girl"

Sleep Thief....???

Well little man is 6 weeks old tomorrow. Today we were discharged from the Obstetrician who was more than happy with everything. Monday is injection day. Not looking forward to this at all but it has to be done. So we are moving along with leaps and bounds. The biggest leap was the weight gain that we had. 10lb 8oz this week. So he is doing all the things that big boys should be doing and as for the sleeping... Well one can't really complain. We get about 4 to 5 hours a night at a time and he seems to wake at the right time for his dad to watch the super 14 games that are played in South Africa in the early hours of Sunday morning.

One Month Old

Wow Steve and I are wondering where the past month has gone. The little man has grown so much he is almost out of his newborn clothes. He is gaining lots of weight and on a good night we get 4 hours sleep at a time out of him. He has changed so much since he was born and we just can't imagine life without him.
This week we had Jess and Frosty here to stay so the little man got to meet his god parents for the first time. Poor old Mum here managed to leave the wee man with Nan for a couple of hours while we went ten pin bowling for old times sakes. Steve and Jess were the ultimate winners of the bowling. It was a little difficult to leave but once we got to the bowling alley I was all good. But needless to say I was very pleased to see him when we returned and much to my delight he was a good boy for Nan and Grandad.

The Peanut has arrived...

Harrison, Joeseph, Garry, Burt

At 3.20am Thurday morning I woke Steve to inform him that my waters had broke. 4.30am we made the call to hospital to let them no we had contraction 4min apart lasting a minute. Arrived at hospital at 5.30am and was taken into the delivery suite. By 11am I was not a happy camper and was asking for the epidual. So the order was placed and in came the troops to sort me out. By 4pm things were on the move so the next stage of labour begain. By 5.36pm the peanut had arrived and I had to ask "so what have we got" It was confirmed he was indeed a boy. Our wee man has massive feet and massive hands and his dad is certain he has a career in rugby (or at least he likes to hope) Although he is our Harrison or Harry for short he indeed will always be peanut to me...

39 Weeks

One week to go and mother and fatherhood are looming upon us.
Had a check up on Tuesday and baby is about 3kgs. The room is ready and there is clothes and nappies to sink a small island.
Just waiting on the little one to make its entrance now.
Next check up is on Tuesday the 10th March and we will be discussing with the doc when we can serve baby its eviction notice if it hasn't arrived before then. But baby can't come in the next 4 days as the doc is away at a conference. So legs are crossed till Monday at least.
Have had the mogs in boot camp this week. Have had the door closed to the babies room and being nosey mogs were bound to have a snoop and knowing what they are like I had to be one step a head of them so the door was opened and tin foil was laid in the cot to stop them from sleeping in it. IT WORK. Cats didn't like the feel of it under there feet and it made too much noise so out they got and they haven't been in there since. They slept next to the cot on the floor or on the couch for a couple of days and now they are not even interested in the room at all.

Hopefully my next post will have some exciting information i.e baby has been born or a date as to when baby will be evicted has been decided.

Still in one piece...... just

34weeks
Well one is still trucking along. Had a little scare a week ago when they thought I was possibly in early labour. But things calmed down. Peanut is ready to make an entrance and is in the lock and load position which is rather uncomfortable I might add. There isn't a lot of room left these days and it means I need to eat smaller meals but more often. We had some beautiful weather here on Saturday afternoon for the baby shower. Which was just lovely. The weather, all the yummy food, the special people and little peanut was spoilt rotten. Now I'm just waiting for the long weekend which is looming upon us. The birthday which I'm pretending not to have the week after, then hopefully some R n R for a few weeks to catch up on some well needed sleep which has become a hard to come by these days due lack of comfort. However it will be just my luck that I finish work and within a week Peanut will make the grand arrival. But I'm ready. In fact I'm born ready... "Excuse the Pun"

Happy New Year / Farewell Horace

So it was my first week back and my last week of work with Horace aka Annemarie (in the above photo straight after I brought her a tequila shot). Sadly for us Annemarie returns to her home in Adelaide but excitingly for her to be a support for her sister who is also due to have a baby. But Horace and I have become good friends and Peanuts going to miss having someone poking it to see if its awake. So now I can start the count down to my last day of work with under a month to go before I can rest and put my feet up. However people keep telling me I will be busy cleaning and doing random nesting things. I do quite like the idea of practising my PS2 Golf and Cricket so I can continue thrashing Steve.
The weekend saw the removal of the old clothes line that use to almost hang me every time hung washing out. I'm quite pleased to see that back end of that thing and have to say Steve's handy man work is actually pretty good.
Week 32 is almost upon us and Peanut is slowly but surely dropping into position. Its a little exciting but not so comfortable with many trips to the bathroom.
